Crystals – Cleaning …

The Need

Tranquility Centre logo 50 Crystals Cleaning ...If using Crystals and Stones regularly, then its important to get into the habit of cleaning them, because they absorb emotions, and its a good idea not to have those hanging around, as either way they may interfere with the present.  As negative energies can be stored they’ill affect the efficacy of your stones.  But the good news is that cleansing will restore their strength and neutrality.

Healing

Its especially important to clean Stones after using in the healing process, because just like people they weary and drain and need revitalizing.  And just like us they respond well to a little TLC.   If you leave it to your intuition you will know when to care for them and if you’re thinking about it, then its time.

Seawater

If you are lucky enough to live by the seaside, as I do, then seawater is ideal, although the harshness of sea salt, does require a rinsing afterwards.  Other great sources are river, stream, white water spring, or regular tap water.  The most important ingredient is ’setting the intention’ with loving care to cleanse and replenish.

Method

  1. Collect some water/seawater
  2. Place Stones/Crystals in a cloth or net
  3. Immerse in the seawater for 1-2 hrs

Important Notice

Not all Crystals and Stones are suited to a water cleansing, i.e. Selenite.  If in doubt check with your Crystal books for an individual Stone/Crystal or use a different method.

Alternative Methods

  1. Crystals/Stones can also be cleansed with a mixed solution of sea:tap water and left immersed overnight. Imagine any negative emotions being washed away as they soak.
  2. Some Crystals can be used to clean other Crystals and Stones.  For example, Quartz, Citrine and Amethyst clusters
  3. Carnelian placed with other Crystals can cleanse them
  4. Smudging with fire
  5. Air drying

The Simplest Way

Probably the easiest way is to leave your Stones on the window-sill, for about 24-hrs, to absorb sunlight (female-yin energy) or moonlight (male-yang energy), the choice is yours, and equally powerful.  You’ll soon get a feel for which is most pertinent at any given time.

There are a wide range of options and as you get into the stillness and quality of energy that Crystals and Stone imbue, so your exploration will deepen.

I find walking into Sheila’s shop is like stepping into a temple, its so still and peaceful.  They certainly have a calming effect on their environment.

Candles …

The Essence

blue 3 wheel 50 pcnkd12 Candles ...There is nothing like a scented candle to draw us back into a room and make direct contact with our senses …

They can be used for all sorts of purposes including lighting the dinner table, marking the start and finish of something, such as a get-together, a party, a meditation, a yoga session, and some bath=time indulgence.

They are amazing for:

  1. meditation
  2. a romantic setting for a candlelit dinner
  3. marking a moment or light one to mark our loved ones or events

As old as The Hills

burning candles vnlit090300096 Candles ...Candles were used long before the power of electricity was discovered and therein lies an aspect of how remarkable they are to have withstood the test of time. And they continueto make their presence felt today despite modern technology.

They have a mystical element about them …

The Chill-out Zone

Another often neglected and indulgent use is that of the candlelit bath … they absolutely set a scene when used this way. They can provide a quite sensual backdrop to an evening shared with a partner or simply spent alone enjoying some quiet time.

Lets give it up for the candle and all its magic … no toolkit of pampering goodies (worth its salt) would be found without such an essential and wonderful item.
