Louise Langley Workshops …

  • January 26, 2009 at 2:22 am

Here’s an update

Louise Langley has just released some workshop dates and I wanted you to be among the first to have the information …

The workshops are formed around the very personal journey Louise describes in her book The Sacred Quest’. The purpose is to raise our awareness and take us away from living in the head and back into living from our heart-felt intuition. I took part in her major event last December at Chalice Well in Glastonbury and as someone who has attended many personal development and training courses, I can testify to making clear, quick lasting change.

Louise shares all sorts of wonderful techniques with you, and mine included various exercises and meditations. I experienced a Sound Therapy Treatment where the crystal healing room shared one of the ancient Abbey walls and the treatment table concealed a giant harp style set of chords that Louie (the crystal shop owner) strummed at will ~ quite extraordinary.

Psych-K

We also had some Psych-K with Jo Baxter, a fast-change energy technique although one that (thanks to Jo) I’m more familiar with. I made some strong shifts during the weekend and would like to recommend Louise’s courses – you can find more information below about her next two for 2009.

The first is a taster day being held, in February, at The Maria Assumpta Centre in London W8. The second is at The Mill Retreat Centre in Montmarquet, France for 4-days, in March. A pre-empt to what Louise’s courses consist of can be seen here …

  1. “How to attract a love to you that is so potent, that it will totally take your breath away, even if you’ve been broken-hearted in the past
  2. How to transcend the kind of fear that is keeping you feeling isolated and disconnected and step into a place of divine grace and trust
  3. How to meditate in a way that will alter your vibrational frequency so that it is in complete harmony with your sacred love blueprint
  4. How to connect with the pure essence of ’sacred union’ drawing on the great love affairs of all eternity
  5. How to breathe heart energy into your own sacred union activation stone!”

About Louise Langley

louise langley4 Louise Langley Workshops ...“As an international speaker and author of the book ‘The Sacred Quest’ which breaks new boundaries in the manifestation of abundance, Louise Langley now teaches others her inspirational message to live solely by their intuition. A huge paradigm shift saw her transcend an extremely successful career in high value financial sales to become the creator of ‘The Ether Group’ pioneering the radical planetary changes outlined in her book.

As she followed her intuition implicitly after a meeting with a mysterious stranger in Dublin 2 years ago, a journey unfolded about her, one which has had both her and all around her quite astounded. What was this journey? One that was to understand and embrace the truth of the amazing journey of life, the Sacred Union of the self. How would you like to begin to understand how to love the journey, knowing it to be a game, a story you laid out for you to follow? How would you like to start to understand how to play the game?”

Crystals – Books …

Stone and Crystals

blue 3 wheel 50 pcnkd4 Crystals Books ...I’ve got some great links to recommend to you … I hope you find them useful … And likewise if you have any references to share please feel free to get in touch with those.

Books

These are two of the books I’ve come across that really deliver and I feel confident to delve into as they are written by well established Crystal Healers and professionals.

Crystal Bible

The Crystal Bible - Judy Hall - AmazonAs my interest deepened I stumbled upon the The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall which is a great reference, its a handy size and features about 200-crystals along with a good index.

“The directory covers the practical and esoteric properties of each crystal, including emotional, mental, physical, psychological and spiritual effects, plus its use in crystal healing”. See the qualities noted below for the Rose Quartz…

The Book of Stones

The Book of Stones - AmazoneAnother highly recommended read is The Book of Stones: Who They Are & What They Teach which although it lacks an index (usually a bit of a no-no) it does have very detailed information on spiritual awakening and self-healing for over 300-stones from both authors Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian. This book is a large size and a great resource … “Its the most in-depth, definitive guide to the world of crystals, minerals, gemstones and their metaphysical energies that has yet been written”.

Let me know what you think about crystals, which are your favorites and what experiences you’ve had with them?

Sizzling Minerals with US Naturals …

  • January 15, 2009 at 9:45 pm

US Natural Sizzling Minerals

Lets talk about the tricky subject of Vitamins and Minerals. I say tricky because on the Diet and Nutrition element of my degree course (back in the day) the experts could only agree on how unquantifiable their absorption is. They rarely agree on the nutrients taken from our daily food and supplements because its so difficult to measure.

It is clear that we need our daily recommended intake. The body is like a machine and needs its daily fuel consumption to repair and replenish the cells as each organ, muscle, bone and tissue goes about its regular renewal on a consistent basis throughout our lives.

So why do we take them and what benefits do we assume we are receiving by going through the daily ritual? Many of us eat a less than healthy diet and that may be one good reason to throw them into the mix because of the old cliche that they ‘can’t do any harm’ or can they? Apparently you can have too much of a good thing but most products on the market are metal-based and therefore not that great at being absorbed into the bloodstream.

But how much is enough? What minerals to take? Why do vitamins have all the press and minerals get ignored, when minerals are the good guys without whom vitamin absorption is unlikely. What are they good for – as Edwin Starr once sang – although he was referring to a rather different battle?

I’ve been using a wonderful mineral supplement for over a year and for me they made an enormous difference. I began using them when I was preparing for a trip to Antarctica last March. I knew it was going to be demanding, as we had a program that included camping on ice, kayaking and ice-climbing. I spent another 10-days traveling around Argentina and Chile and was away for almost 5-wks … my longest sojourn to date.

They were introduced to me by a good friend who’d found them a great source of nutritional support when she went through a rocky divorce. I knew I needed a physical boost to help me deal with my impending Adventure and this proved to be it. My quality of sleep improved immediately and fitness levels began to rise as I was working on recovery from various injuries of the previous few years. I began by taking two daily for the first 3-mths and returned to that dosage while away on the trip. Since then I’ve enjoyed taking them on a regular basis and wouldn’t be without.

The Daily Intake

fruit and veg free serg v090300221 Sizzling Minerals with US Naturals ...They’re marketed as Sizzling Minerals sourced in Utah and each soluble tablet (described as wafers) contains 600 mgs of approximately 75-minerals. The 7-major minerals and 68 trace minerals found in each ‘wafer’ = the daily recommendation. So what’s different about them and why go all the way to Utah to find what you need when you can so easily pop round to the local store and pick up any manner of supplementary concoction right off the shelf?

Sizzling Minerals are different because they are plant-derived and grown in the best organic soil to preserve and ship their nutrients in the most unhindered and natural state directly to your door.

Kick Start the Habit

You begin by kick-starting your system with double dosage and sometimes you might return to that, perhaps when a busy schedule leaves you feeling in need of extra supplementary support. After the first month you can resort to a daily tablet. They absorb directly into your water bottle and can be transported around easily and are contained in a foil wrap which keeps them absolutely fresh until use. They come in various fruit or natural flavors.

I can recommend them from experience and if you’re looking for a highly effective mineral supplement that enables vitamin absorption then why not give them a go. Check them out and by all means sign up.

I’d be like to hear your views, what do you use, please drop a comment in the box below and let me know your thinking on the subject.

Vanda Scaravelli – Yoga for ALL …

  • January 15, 2009 at 12:23 am

BKS Iyengar

If you’re a Yoga fan … the chances are that you have attended a class or watched a DVD where the teacher was influenced by Vanda Scaravelli. She was born in Florence in 1908 into an artistic and intellectual background and died only a few years ago, in her ’90’s with her extraordinary flexibility in tact, due to her lifelong yoga practice.

She learned Yoga, during the 1940’s when BKS Iyengar visited her mountain lodge, alongside other notables of the day like Yehudi Menuhin. She claimed in her book Awakening the Spine that she only began to learn properly when the guests left and she was able to develop her personal practice. And this observation illustrates the underlying philosophy of her yoga teaching.

The Tree Body

tree the spine nikuwka080700040 Vanda Scaravelli Yoga for ALL ...She likens the human body … upright where most other creatures are not … to a tree where the waist area approximately equates to that of a tree where it separates the trunk from the branches.

If you were to stand upright in Mountain Pose (Tadasana) you would get a sense of this. You simply place your feet hip-width apart and gently root your feet into the ground. In her book Scaravelli describes this foundation of all good yoga practice thus …

“In Tadasana the body is perfectly still. Standing on the back of the heels your weight slowing sinks down. If you stand long enough, the lower part of the body, from the waist to the heels, gravitates, you will discover that the upper part of the body becomes, light, free and straight. This starting position can correct and adjust spinal problems such as scoliosis and arthritis.

To do the pose correctly stand on the back of the heels with the spine straight, knees extended and chin in. The weight must be distributed equally on both legs,

This is the most important pose. Do it correctly and all the others will follow.”

Give it a Go

kid standing with arms in air dmbaker060600045 Vanda Scaravelli Yoga for ALL ...

if you look at this child you can see how much he’s stretching his arms upwards and away from his feet. The act of stretching takes us wholly away from grounding (the act of calm and focus).  He’s laughing and excited about life, and our aim is to have that joy, but from our centre (not control).  One method for achieving this is Yoga and the starting point of Mountain Pose (Tadasana) provides that start, as stated earlier. We often don’t realize how ungrounded we are as we go about life, mostly in habit, existing in our dreamlike conscious-state, carrying out most actions on automatic pilot.

If you like a challenge, which stillness is for most of us, then have a go at this and who knows what you might find.  This pose will start to inform you as to how much you can release and highlight the areas that may just require your attention.

And one aspect is our physical sense, as anyone who’s had a massage knows we carry most of our tension in the shoulder and neck areas, and likewise just how good it feels to free up those knots.

This is a simple and very effective pose … give it a try …

Exercise the lazy way …

  • January 13, 2009 at 10:04 am

Vibrating Plate Machine

Has everyone heard of the Vibrating Plate Machine or similar … Its a form of exercising that is fairly new, amazingly quick and simple, over-riding the need for a gym membership (if that tickles your fancy) it certainly does mine.

It was recommended to me around 18-mths ago by the bio-energy healer Seka Nikolic (who featured in one of Paul McKenna’s TV programs) when I visited her for a course of treatment. And her thinking falls in line with many great Yoga teachers that adhere to the ‘less is more’ philosophy by stopping at the point of your resistance in every pose …

crazy fit mass body vibe plate ex machine 41r4fxyrhvl aa280 Exercise the lazy way ...The story goes that this piece of kit was developed by the Russian space program when cosmonauts, at zero gravity, experienced loss of muscle tone and with prolonged stays in space it sometimes led to loss in bone density.

Hence the vibrational exercise equipment was born and now its in common usage. Over the last year most gyms in the UK have installed at least one of these machines … Some of us may be a little sceptical and still believe in the adage ‘no pain no gain’ after all how can 10-mins of standing or stretching (on a vibrating platform) possibly hold the equivalent benefit to an hour’s workout?

Is The Gym Outdated – You Decide

Crazy Fit Massager Body Vibration Plate Exercise MachineSuch thinking may be ’so last century’ and perhaps has more to do with the psychological benefit we gain from pounding a treadmill, believing that this punishment somehow compensates for all our poor social habits especially where eating and drinking are concerned. Instead lets celebrate the arrival of such a wonder because of the overall effect in return for so little effort.

The price of these machines (as used by Madonna) varies greatly and the top of the range are priced in the region of $12K although they are currently advertised at $231 and from all accounts there isn’t a deal of difference Crazy Fit Massager Body Vibration Plate Exercise Machine.

The Moon Landings

My dad (sadly was no longer around by the late 60’s when the moon-landings took place) would amuse us with his ’strange’ enthusiasm for a future where our nutritional intake would be in tablet form (as depicted by astronauts) as he wasn’t much of a food fan …

He would have loved the thinking behind this machine and in the words of Neil Armstrong; “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”. Indeed these machines rock if you catch my drift …

Essential Oils …

  • January 12, 2009 at 10:55 pm

Its got to be the Real Deal

blue 3 wheel 50 pcnkd13 Essential Oils ...We are going to explore Essential Oils in great detail … including the reasons for using the ‘real mccoy’ and the benefits of their application … either through burning in a water-filled receptacle or by direct application to the skin.

There is a saying (source unknown) along the lines that care is best taken in regards to what we apply to our skin, because it is naive of us not to realize that whatever we apply on the exterior will be absorbed through the skin membrane and find its way into the ‘system’ …

Are We Porous

sponge the one tgellan080600021 Essential Oils ...I know when I first heard this it gave quite a jolt … I think at that time I simply hadn’t made that connection, between our internal physiology and the external of everyday living … the ’state’ of our internal body having a great impact on the quality of our external lives.

But curiosity has been a great friend and often finding it impossible to take ‘no’ for an answer … I love a challenge and the opportunity to don my metaphorical deerstalker (in the style of Sherlock Holmes) and set about finding answers … Its partly a defiance of authority figures and being given that old standard – its been a long day – parent-style response of … ‘because it is’ just won’t cut it.

essential oils the mix quayside060400071 Essential Oils ...

And this approach has opened up a what is a ‘brave new world’ for me. A world brimming full of our incredible capability that is ‘mind over matter’.

And this approach has opened up a what is a ‘brave new world’ for me. A world brimming full of our incredible capability that is ‘mind over matter’.I digress … But this simply brings us back to checking out what we apply to our skins and ingest in the form of internal treatments, food sources, and pharmaceuticals.

Essential oils have a great history and we shall talk about them in further detail next time.

Candles …

  • January 9, 2009 at 11:47 am

The Essence

blue 3 wheel 50 pcnkd12 Candles ...There is nothing like a scented candle to draw us back into a room and make direct contact with our senses …

They can be used for all sorts of purposes including lighting the dinner table, marking the start and finish of something, such as a get-together, a party, a meditation, a yoga session, and some bath=time indulgence.

They are amazing for:

  1. meditation
  2. a romantic setting for a candlelit dinner
  3. marking a moment or light one to mark our loved ones or events

As old as The Hills

burning candles vnlit090300096 Candles ...Candles were used long before the power of electricity was discovered and therein lies an aspect of how remarkable they are to have withstood the test of time. And they continueto make their presence felt today despite modern technology.

They have a mystical element about them …

The Chill-out Zone

Another often neglected and indulgent use is that of the candlelit bath … they absolutely set a scene when used this way. They can provide a quite sensual backdrop to an evening shared with a partner or simply spent alone enjoying some quiet time.

Lets give it up for the candle and all its magic … no toolkit of pampering goodies (worth its salt) would be found without such an essential and wonderful item.

Louise Langley

  • January 6, 2009 at 7:48 pm

Antarctica

Tranquility Centre logo 501 Louise LangleyBecause this is the first post on what is a fresh and crisp new blog I want to launch it with a very worthy topic.

Today I am talking about Louise Langley mother to three wonderful boys. I first met Louise in March 2008 in Antarctica, of all places, and we spoke for the first time drifting back to the ship, in a dinghy, having spent a glorious morning kayaking, with the rest of the group, among seals and penguins and the serenity was almost deafening … a very beautiful and tranquil setting as I’m sure you can imagine, if you haven’t yet visited. And it was the tranquillity of Antarctica that inspired this blog name. Therefore it’s fitting that Louise features here first.

The Sacred Quest

 Louise Langley

During the trip, Louise gave a talk about The Sacred Quest and her quest and she was very inspiring … Her gentle, laughter and bright eyes quickly convey her authenticity and conviction.

Most of 2008 found her in meetings all around the world with scientists, complimentary and new-age experts working in joint partnership, as she gathered and translated into a more tangible format the information that continues to be filtered through her by whatever means.

Louise’s first book The Sacred Quest has various components.

Biographical

louise langley5 Louise Langley

It’s biographical in describing Louise’s experiences over the previous 18-mths and how her life changed un-recognizably, following an event in Dublin during the summer of 2006. It also illustrates Louise’s own lessons as an example of how it is our primitive duty to follow our heart and intuition if we truly wish to be happy. Following Louise’s suggestions leads us to ‘live in our truth’ where we discover our self-worth, life partner and life work.

The Science

puzzle pieces tntemerson080800130 Louise LangleyThe final aspect that gives the book its objective approval in the form of scientific evidence is being found in various fields such as: astronomy; genetics; quantum mechanics; quantum physics; and re-emerging sciences that were buried in ancient history.

Next time I’ll tell you more about how you can take one of Louise’s courses as I’ll tell you about the experiences I had on her Sacred Quest course in December 2008 and begin to publish her national and international programme for 2009 …
